This has won the RHS Award of Garden Merit [1]. To win this impressive accolade the plants must have outstanding excellence for decorating a garden, be robust, not require highly specialist growing conditions or care and not be particularly susceptible to any pest or disease.
Good for the front of a border, pathways and paving, cascading over a wall, in containers, alpine bed, rock garden or by a patio and is dependable in any well drained soil.

Yes, it will fill a largish space at the front of a plant bed.

Yes, it doesn’t mind being trodden on sometimes.
