Description
Senecio Sunshine description:
Bright yellow flowers in the summer and the autumn.
The leaves are grey and felty and are evergreen.
Good for the middle of a border.
A pollinator friendly plant including bees.
Can tolerate a coastal aspect with a certain amount of salt laden air.
Common name: Sunshine Ragwort.
Also known as: Brachyglottis Sunshine and Brachyglottis greyi and Brachyglottis laxifolia and Senecio greyi and Senecio laxifolius hort.

Sun or semi shade.
Is it useful as a ground cover plant?
Shrubs do cover the ground, but they are not a ‘ground cover plant’ because they add height and structure to a garden.
What type of soil:
Well drained soil, also tolerates chalky soil and acidic soil.
How much moisture:
Normal moisture.
Hardiness and, or, lifespan:
Hardy, but needs a protected spot to prevent the leaves getting ‘burnt’ in a severe winter.
Care and maintenance:
When newly planted always keep it watered until the roots have grown down and it is able to find its own moisture.
Prune lightly after flowering.
