Sedum Golden Queen description
The evergreen foliage is a bright golden colour, getting very intense in colder weather.
Golden yellow flowers then appear in the summer.
It forms a very low evergreen carpet.
Don’t put it near to small, low plants. Larger plants will get surrounded but will grow happily above it.
A pollinator friendly plant including bees.
This is a butterfly friendly plant.
Can tolerate a coastal aspect with a certain amount of salt laden air.
How easy is it to grow:
Good for the front of a border, hanging over a wall, in a container, by a patio, alpine bed or rock garden.
Excellent for planting in pathways and paving and it is easy in most soils, including heavy or clay soils, provided there are no Vine Weevil in your garden (see ‘Care and maintenance’ below).
Common name: Goldmoss Stonecrop.

Is it useful as a ground cover plant?
Yes, it will fill a biggish gap at the front of a flower border.
Can it be used for planting amongst paving?
Yes, it doesn’t mind being trodden on sometimes.
What type of soil:
Any reasonable soil, also tolerates chalky soil and clay soil.
How much moisture:
Normal or dryish stony.

Care and maintenance:
When newly planted always keep it watered until the roots have grown down and it is able to find its own moisture.
It is susceptible to Vine Weevil which lay their eggs by the plant and these develop into white, banana shaped grubs that chomp the roots. Biological control is pretty good at controlling it.
