Icterina Sage description

What a refreshing splash of colour!
It brightens up any area with a year round display of bold foliage.
Add to that, it has a great Mediterranean fragrance.

It occasionally sends up lilac coloured flowers in summer, but with such stunning foliage it doesn’t need any flowers.

A pollinator friendly plant including bees.
Can tolerate a coastal aspect with a certain amount of salt laden air.

This is suitable for the herb garden, border or patio.How easy is it to grow:
This is great for a herb garden, border or patio and is fairly easy requiring well drained soil, but it can get disfigured by Powdery Mildew.

Use in stuffing, salads, pickles and cheeses.

Any reasonable, well drained soil, also tolerates acidic soil and chalky soil.

The most hardy of the Sages, but resents waterlogged soil.

Care and maintenance:

When newly planted always keep it watered until the roots have grown down and it is able to find its own moisture.
Trim back while in active growth, but not just prior to winter.
