This has won the RHS Award of Garden Merit . To win this impressive accolade the plants must have outstanding excellence for decorating a garden, be robust, not require highly specialist growing conditions or care and not be particularly susceptible to any pest or disease.
Good for the front of a border, on a bank, cascading over a wall, in containers, or by a patio and is easy in any reasonably drained soil and can cope with some clay, and it isn’t very susceptible to black spot on the leaves.
