Geranium sanguineum Vision Violet description

Pink flowers that are a blue-violet at times.
It flowers in late spring and into the summer.
The foliage turns red as the weather turns colder.

It makes excellent ground cover, but do not put it too close to smaller plants.

A pollinator friendly plant including bees.
This is a butterfly friendly plant.
Good for wildlife in general.

Good for the middle of a border, or on a bank, Cottage Garden, alpine bed, by a patio or in pots.
It is reliable in most soils, including heavy or clay soils.

Any reasonable soil, also tolerates acidic soil and chalky soil. Tolerates clay soil.

Care and maintenance:

When newly planted always keep it watered until the roots have grown down and it is able to find its own moisture.
If the foliage becomes tatty looking then trim hard with shears and fresh new growth will appear.
