Chives description:

Quite an attractive plant in it’s own right with tubular, spike-like foliage that has a good show of mauve flowers in the summer.

It’s only drawback is that the foliage is not very robust – easily getting crushed or bruised, therefore it is best placed away from the edge of a pathway or games area!

Can tolerate a coastal aspect with a certain amount of salt laden air.

When newly planted always keep it watered until the roots have grown down and it is able to find its own moisture.
It can get a rust, if infected trim hard down just above ground level and careful pick up the debris.
