How easy is it to grow:
Good for the front of a border, a bank, cascading over a wall or by a patio, but what used to be an easy plant has now become a bit more difficult due to it’s leaf problems (see ‘Care and Maintenance’ below).

Yes, it will fill a space at the front of a border.
What type of soil:
Any reasonable soil, also tolerates chalky soil.

Normal, or dryish stony.

Care and maintenance:
When newly planted always keep it watered until the roots have grown down and it is able to find its own moisture.
The foliage is compact, (most varieties of Aubrieta are not), but it still does benefit from a very hard trim in the summer.
Attractive to Cabbage White Butterfly caterpillars that damage a lot of leaves.
It can get Downy Mildew – if it gets a lot of yellow leaves then cut back.
Also can get White Blister – cut out infected stems.
